Efectos de la pandemia en la salud mental del profesional sanitario que labora en un hospital de segundo nivel de atención durante el segundo trimestre del año 2020.

Abstract

La pandemia originada por el coronavirus COVID-19 es un evento que ocasiona cambios bruscos en los efectos de la salud. Se estima que este acontecimiento tenga un alto impacto económico, social y sanitario, lo que aumenta la incertidumbre y problemas en la salud mental de la población. La emergencia sanitaria global causada por la actual pandemia de Covid-19 está probablemente suponiendo uno de los mayores desafíos a los que los profesionales sanitarios se hayan podido enfrentar a lo largo de su carrera. Tanto a nivel nacional como internacional, profesionales expertos coinciden en señalar que el estrés laboral, el riesgo de contagio y la falta de medios adecuados tanto material como humanos para la lucha contra el virus, sumado a la situación de cuarentena, podrían causar estragos importantes de salud mental a los profesionales sanitarios al frente de la actual pandemia. El Objetivo de esta tesis es analizar el efecto de la pandemia en la salud mental en los profesionales que se encuentran en primera línea de batalla en un hospital de segundo nivel de atención. La metodología se llevará a cabo mediante compilación de datos, donde se analizarán referencias científicas existentes sobre el tema y testimonios de personas del tema propuesto. A partir de los datos obtenidos se presentarán los resultados de la investigación. Los problemas de salud mental, afectan a los profesionales de la salud que están en primera línea en atención a pacientes infectados con coronavirus COVID-19. Se ven enfrentados a grandes presiones de trabajo, agotamiento, miedo, trastornos emocionales, insomnio, altos niveles de ansiedad y estrés postraumático. Estos problemas pueden afectar la calidad en la atención a pacientes, disminuir la idoneidad de comprensión clínica y competencia en la toma de decisiones, lo que puede impactar su bienestar y calidad de vida.

Abstract The pandemic caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus is an event that causes sudden changes in health effects. It is estimated that this event has a high economic, social and health impact, which increases uncertainty and problems in the mental health of the population. The global health emergency caused by the current Covid-19 pandemic is probably posing one of the greatest challenges that health professionals have been able to face throughout their careers. Both nationally and internationally, expert professionals coincide in pointing out that work stress, the risk of contagion and the lack of adequate material and human means to fight the virus, added to the quarantine situation, could cause significant damage to mental health to health professionals at the forefront of the current pandemic. The objective of this thesis is to analyze the effect of covid.19 on mental health in professionals who are on the front lines of the HILT battle. The methodology will be carried out by compiling data, where existing scientific references on the subject and testimonies of people on the proposed subject will be analyzed. From the data obtained, the results of the investigation will be presented. Mental health problems affect health professionals who are on the front line in caring for patients infected with the COVID-19 coronavirus. They are faced with great work pressures, burnout, fear, emotional disturbances, insomnia, high levels of anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. These problems can affect the quality of patient care, decrease the adequacy of clinical understanding and competence in decision-making, which can impact their well-being and quality of life.
